Bursitis
Bursitis
Bursitis is inflammation of a bursa – a small fluid-filled sac that functions as a cushion between a bone and a muscle, skin, or tendon, most commonly in the shoulder, hip, elbow, and knee. Bursas are to lubricate joint tendons. When the demand and friction on the bursa are too high, it will become overused and irritated and lead to inflammation.

Treatment for Bursitis
Our physiotherapists at Fizo Kare Physiotherapy Centre will provide expert advice on methods to protect the area and customise a programme to treat bursitis and help prevent the recurrence of this painful condition. If needed, we will also include bandaging or immobilising brace around the affected joint until the inflammation subsides to prevent further inflammation.
Once the inflammation has subsided, physiotherapy treatments and exercise programmes are important to ensure that bursitis does not reoccur.
