Groin Pain
Groin Pain
Groin pain is the discomfort in the upper thigh and abdomen. Although sometimes pain in the testicles (for male) can cause pain that will spread to the groin, it’s not the same as groin pain.
Symptoms & Causes of Groin Pain
The symptoms of groin pain are:
-
Feeling a sudden or sharp pain in the inner thigh or groin muscle
-
Bruising and swelling
-
Feeling tender in the area
-
Pain in the back, abdomen or chest
-
Pain at the testicles (male)
-
Nausea, vomiting, fever, chills or blood in the urine (male)
-
Numbness or tingling around the groin
-
Altered urinary patterns
-
Pain when coughing and sneezing
The causes of groin pain are:
-
Side-stepping or twisting movement (overstretching of the muscles, especially during sports such as football and rugby)
Treatment for Groin Pain
Our physiotherapists at Fizo Kare Physiotherapy Centre will plan and customise a rehabilitation plan depending on the groin pain condition to reduce pain and swelling, accelerate the recovery process of the damaged structures, and strengthen the muscles.
