Headache & Migraines
Headaches and migraine can be painful and exhausting conditions for many people. There are two types of headaches; primary headaches and secondary headaches. Primary headaches are when there is no underlying concerning cause for the headache or symptoms. Secondary headaches result from an alternative cause, such as pain from the neck.
Migraine is a primary headache disorder. The pain, which may be throbbing or pulsating, is usually unilateral and is aggravated by physical activity.

Migraine is a severe and episodic headaches. It is characterized by recurrent attacks of headache that are moderate to severe in intensity. Symptoms for migraine may last for 4 to 72 hours and may be severe. The pain, which may be throbbing or pulsating, is usually unilateral and associated with nausea, vomiting, and sensitivity to light.
Symptoms & Causes of Headache & Migraines
The symptoms of headaches & migraines are:

Pain radiates from the back to the front of the head

Worsen with prolonged siting posture

Aggravated by repetitive movements or postures

Always more painful on the same side of the head

Feeling dizzy of unsteady

Spasms

Reduced range of movement

Swelling/inflammation

May be accompanied by:

The causes of headache & migraines are:

Incorrect posture or traumatic injury causing force to be placed on the nerves, ligaments, joints, and muscles in the neck

Whiplash injury or trauma to the neck (cervical headaches)
Treatment for Headache & Migraines
Our physiotherapists at Fizo Kare Physiotherapy will treat the stiffness and tension in the joints and muscles that cause migraine and headaches. If the headaches originate from the neck (cervicogenic headaches), our physiotherapists can help too. As a result, we can help with migraines and tension-type headaches and reduce the need for medication.
