Neck Injury & Pain
Neck Injury & Pain
Neck pain is a significant problem affecting almost everyone regardless of age. Children, teenagers, gamers, and office workers are also victims of neck pain, not only the elderly.
Symptoms & Causes of Neck Injury & Pain
The symptoms of neck pain are:
-
Neck stiffness
-
Pins and needles in the arm
-
Shoulder stiffness
-
Pain in the shoulder blade, head, arm, wrist and hand

There is a wide range of causes of neck pain, and the most common is mechanical. The leading cause of mechanical neck pain is the improper posture of office workers and e-gamers or people who spend an extended period sitting. A slumped, or forward head posture will strain muscles, joints, discs, and connective tissues in the cervical spine.
Loads and stressors from those who do many overhead tasks or lifting cause inflammation and damage the cervical facet joints.
Injuries such as whiplash (a musculoskeletal injury caused by a sudden movement in one direction and followed by the opposite direction immediately) occur most commonly from a car accident, physical abuse, contact sports injuries, or even intense amusement park rides. This injury will cause microtrauma in the neck and subsequent neck pain.
Treatment for Neck Injury & Pain
Using pain relief is not a permanent solution for the pain. It can only subdue the pain and discomfort for the time being. On the other hand, physiotherapy treatment for neck pain is effective. It can deliver long-lasting solutions for the pain.
Our physiotherapists at Fizo Kare Physiotherapy Centre will offer physiotherapy treatment for neck pain, consisting of two main components; passive and active physiotherapy. Passive physiotherapy involves treatments that do not need any effort from the patient to reduce pain and swelling in the neck.
Active physiotherapy will require the patient to move his body through exercises and stretches to improve the strength and flexibility of the beck muscles.
