​TMJ Dysfunction
Temporomandibular joints (TMJ) are the hinged portion of the jaw located in front of the ears. There are two TMJs, one on each side of the head. The functions of these joints are to allow one to speak, eat and yawn.
Symptoms & Causes of ​​TMJ Dysfunction
TMJ dysfunction is the inflammation of these joints.
The symptoms of TMJ dysfunction are:

Popping, locking and clicking of the jaw

Difficulties in opening the jaw

Severe and recurring headaches

Pain in the ears, temples and/or neck

Occasional hearing loss

Dizziness
-
Hearing ringing sounds

Neck pain / neck stiffness

Sensitive teeth

The causes of TMJ dysfunction are:

Crossbite

Clenching or grinding of teeth

Stress or nervous habits
